Many of you know that 2 years ago I trained for my quest to reach the top of Kilimanjaro on my 50th Birthday! While doing so, I asked you to support Girls Inc Westchester, an organization that provides programming and experiences to help middle school and high school girls to be STRONG, SMART, BOLD!  Together we raised over $5,000.

As I endeavor to continue to support this very special organization and make a commitment to the Girls Inc girls, I want to demonstrate being STRONG and again ask for your support as I raise money to enable the incredible staff at Girls Inc Westchester to deliver meaningful evidence-based programming!

Today, I am launching Denise's 52 By 52!  I am committing to 52 workouts before February 28th, 2020,  the day I turn 52.  So, by my calculation, I have 59 days to do 52 work outs!  At the end of this challenge, I won't be at the top of Kilimanjaro (sadly!) but I will have a story of perseverance and resolve to share in honor of the girls!

If you have STRONG, SMART, BOLD women and girls in your life - mothers, sisters, daughters, girlfriends, nieces, friends or colleagues that you are grateful for and want to enable the same for other women and girls....please consider making a donation to Girls Inc Westchester!

Thank you!

Established in 2007, Girls Incorporated of Westchester County inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. We are the local affiliate of Girls Incorporated, a 150 year old national nonprofit providing more than 140,000 girls across the U.S. and Canada with life-changing experiences and solutions to the unique challenges girls face. The Girls Inc. Experience consists of people, an environment, and programming that, together, empower girls to succeed. At Girls Inc., girls grow up healthy, educated, and independent.

PURPOSE AND COMMUNITY NEED

According the Westchester Children’s Association’s 2016 Children By The Numbers report, “there is overwhelming evidence that age, race, location, and gender play major roles in determining a child’s well-being and life prospects, especially when it comes to poverty, future income, and education.” Disparities follow girls throughout their educational journey and beyond including higher education, economic security, and even professional success. Therefore, it is vital to understand the needs of under-served girls to design effective approaches to address their needs.

Individual fundraisers are helping propel Girls Inc. Westchester into the future.
