I graduated from Truman High School in the Bronx as a child of a single mother and a recent immigrant from Jamaica. I know firsthand that girls like me, in every corner of our state, are subject to poverty, high drop out rates, and substance use. I was able to overcome these systemic barriers because of mentors and family. I am standing with Girls Inc. Westchester because I have seen first hand how it supports girls of color today as they grow into women without limits through educational enrichment & SAT prep programs, leadership development, confidence-building, STEM, mentorship, and so much more.
Your contribution is more than a donation. It is how we will work together to make sure that every single girl, no matter her circumstance or situation, has the resources she needs to be healthy, educated, independent and successful. Thank you for your commitment to supporting strong, smart, and bold girls.
Won’t you stand in their corner with me? A significant portion of our funding is achieved through our annual April gala, which was cancelled due to the coronavirus. However, the social, emotional, and educational needs of the girls we serve remain. Can you please consider a tax deductible donation to help this wonderful organization through these uncertain times? Your investment, of any size, towards my personal campaign for Girls Inc. supports informative and inspirational programs that girls need. I hope you’ll join me and be a champion for girls. With you in their corner, anything is possible.
