Hello my friends,
The Coronavirus pandemic has changed the way we interact. Schools are closed and social distancing is mandated. The lack of in-person contact has meant that many non-profit organizations, like Girls Inc. of Westchester County, have had to alter the way they serve those in need. But we are doing it! We have shifted programming to virtual STEM, Public Speaking, personal health and other interactive sessions that the girls absolutely cherish.
I have seen first hand how truly impactful Girls Inc. of Westchester is on the lives of the girls they serve. Girls Inc. gives girls opportunities for experiences they otherwise would not have through educational enrichment & SAT prep programs, leadership development, confidence-building, STEM, and so much more.
A significant portion of the funding for Girls Inc. is achieved through our exciting annual gala held in April of each year. The annual gala this year was cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic that mandated shelter in place orders and closed businesses and venues across New York. However, the social, emotional, and educational needs of the girls they serve remain. In many ways the needs are even greater now with COVID
