The Coronavirus pandemic has changed the way we interact. Schools are closed and social distancing is mandated. The lack of in-person contact has meant that many non-profit organizations, like Girls Inc. of Westchester County, have had to alter the way they serve those in need. 

I have seen first hand how truly impactful Girls Inc. of Westchester is on the lives of the girls they serve - girls from all areas of our country and particularly those from under-served and under-resourced areas. Girls Inc. gives girls opportunities for experiences they otherwise would not have through educational enrichment & SAT prep programs, leadership development, confidence-building, STEM, and so much more. 

A significant portion of the funding for Girls Inc. is achieved through their annual gala held in April of each year. The annual gala this year was cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic that mandated shelter in place orders and closed businesses and venues across New York. However, the social, emotional, and educational needs of the girls they serve remain.
