The Linda Sue Casper Memorial Fund has been established by Linda's dear friends, Evy Segal Lipton and Joan Bluestone Landorf.  The fund supports educational enrichment, STEAM, and Leadership pr ograms for girls ages 9 -18 through the work of Girls Inc. of Westchester County.  The fund helps girls from underserved and underrepresented areas of Westchester County, NY improve their skills in after school or weekend programs.

Linda Casper devoted her life to the education and nurturing of young people, and she lived her life as a model of what is possible when one sets their sights high and doesn't give up when the going gets tough.

Linda was a champion of girls.  She spent her early career teaching math to girls at The Brearley School in New York City and then spent over two decades as a math professor at Mercy College in Westchester.  Using her intuitive understanding of the needs of her students, Linda met them where they were, with every expectation that they could and would move beyond what they thought was possible.  Linda set a high bar for her students and she was always there to support, assist, and cheer them on along the way.

Linda Sue Casper passed away on October 5, 2019 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.  Linda never let her illness get in the way of her fierce love of math, theater, music, art, literature, tennis...and students.  She tutored middle school and high school kids up until the end of her life.  Linda loved life and learning.  Her wit and wisdom live on in everyone who knew her.

The Linda Sue Casper Memorial Fund at Girls Inc. of Westchester was created to honor this strong, smart, and bold woman and her legacy as a trailblazer, glass ceiling breaker, and lifelong learner.  The funds support Girls Inc. of Westchester girls as they power through to reach their goals.

Please join us in honoring Linda's legacy with a gift to The Linda Sue Casper Fund.  Your contribution will help Westchester County girls build STEAM skills, succeed in high school, have the chance to attend college, and have the opportunity to blaze their own paths, like Linda did.

Girls Inc. Westchester is a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organization. All donations are tax-deductible.
